You could buy a block off plate. There is a guy that lives in SoCal and works at a Honda dealership that sells them from time to time. Look in the classifieds forum.

What needs to be done to actually remove the antenna? before puting the block off plate on.

Do the wires just disconnect? or do they need to be cut?

I've always been curious, when you put on the block off plate, do you have to pull the antenna wire? I'd like to ditch mine, but I'm not willing to reinstall the antenna if I ever sell the car or anything.

The antenna wire is soldered to the antenna so you could cut it or just get under the dash and disconnect it from the radio and pull it out... I have to agree with Daniel san though, shaving is the only way to go! I got mine shaved when I painted my car and it's the ****!

You just unplug it and then pull it through from the outside.
Do you mean automatic/power?

Del Sol is different than civic, its more like integra. (You forgot to mention you drive a del sol.) You can use one from an s2000 as far as I figure, since integras can

well what i did is i just removed the stock one and pushed the antenna down into the hole that it comes out of.

i believe that if i were to take the block off blate and put my oem one on it would still work because i still get reception. here a pic of what mine looks like

ive enjoyed it since day 1

Getting a body shop to shave it is probably the best/cleanest way to go, but using a block off plate is the next best thing. It's worth the $5 in my book.
