fixing curb marks, and painting wheels
i got the gsr blades and i wanted to paint my rims. Yes i have searched but i couldnt find what i wanted. i wanted to fix all the curb marks and also wanted to paint my rims stock color(or MUCH MORE SHINIER) of the blades which is POLISHED. i know lotta people have already painted them but how do you get the polished rims shinier? if you guys find a good write up on DIY than post it please

you could take the same steps as ppl who have painted and just use a color similar to the stock color. and also there are a lot of products on the market that do wonders in cleaning rims, might wanna check some out. dont have any personnal recommendations, but i know many on here will. curb marks im unsure but maybe take off the scuff marks with sandpaper? who knows

like i stated i have searched for some of you dicks that wanna get smart(did not find anything how to paint it stock) what i heard from some people was that when you get an air craft removal it basically gets the rim back to being polished. but i wanted to mine to be shinier than stock. also i do have pretty long and not to deep but a little deep curb mark on one of the spoke. will i be able to sand that down also?

The Air Craft Remover will only take off the clear coat. To make it 'shinier than stock' you're gonna have to invest some time in sanding and polishing them. Or you can just paint them after you use the Air Craft Remover.
As for the getting the curb marks cleaned up, the only thing I can think of is using something like JB Weld and filling in the spots. Then sanding them down and painting over that. But that would rule out having a polished lip.

the curb marks arnt that bad, i dont think i need to use jb welb at all. its just that if i do sand them down, the rim prob gonna be different color. what paint is like the closest to i guess polished?(chrome?)
thats what i thought also. so if i sand the curb marks down. what color will it be? i doubt i would still be polished. just wanted to know before i get started

harbor fright tools sells a portable sand blaster for like 25 bucks. Its 17 for a 5 gallon bucket of sand it is amazing, Wear long sleaves and a face mask though that **** hurts, And if you want to polish them autozone has a line on products called extreme, it looks like pink insulation comes it a small black jar works great.
i think imma just get air craft removal and sand it down with some sand paper. i got some mothers polish also so ill see how it all work out. how many coat of clear coat should i apply after polishing the wheel? i really want my rims to like BLING. lol (i just saw a CLEAN stock gizzer with shinny blades)
yep.. sanding it down and repolishing it will be the best choice.. dont paint any clear coat cuz it wont stick.. i got some polish si wheels.. spent like 2 hours each.. but it came out good.. better then it was when it was painted gunmetal..
BTW.. i used aircraft remover.. wet sand it with 600, then 1000, then 1400, then washed it up, dry it.. used mother polish.. n bling bling.. try look for a sealer for polishing.. its like this gel u put over the wheel to protect the blingy!!
hope this helps

i just tried to sand some part of my wheel and polish it to see how it would turn out. well there were some curb marks on the wheel so i was sanding it with 100 grit sand paper. and it looks like just a scrached up metal. so i decided to see how it would turn out so i start polishing. about 2 or 3 times but still looks the same. there is no shiny look to it. am i doing something wrong? would it get better if i keep on changing to softer grit sand paper? also can i use air grinder to sand it down because this is gonna take foreever
100 grit? damn.. haha try using 400 grit n sand it another direction of what you did with the 100 grit.. for example.. if you sanded the wheel going up n down motion with the 100.. try going side to side with another higher grit sand paper.. like 400 den 600 then 1000, then 1500..
wet sanding it i think makes it more smoother then regular..
and yea it took me around 2 hours each.. after you finish sanding the whole wheel.. the face part evenly.. clean it, dry it.. n polish it with mother polish.. put some force into it when you polish unless you got a machine .. after just wipe it off with a cloth..
let me try to get some pics of my si wheels..

i kinda want minez to be more blinged out though.. im trying to get the curb marks off on my lip. its a bitch sanding them down with your hands. plus i really dont have time also. work and school basically all day. sillyboi doesnt your rims get dirty real easy? is there like a coating that you can use over polish?

well i did those on the weekend, i work full time also.. theres no extra coating, just have to repolish it a little after a car wash or else you'll start to see water stains
, there is this sealer out there that cost like 15$ a bottle, it says it'll seal it for a whole year..
if you want yours to bling out more, sand it down more, so it hits bare aluminum, and use a machine to polish it..

see i have lotta curb marks just like you see on ur rims silly boi(where the lip is) i tried to sand those down till it looks like theres no scratch. and tried to polish it up a little to see the result but it looked horrible. maybe its because i didnt sand it down with higher grit or didnt polish enough. thanks for the info though. if you guys see any same type of post or have more info how to make it look better and seal it up. let me know
