I got tired of my black valve cover. Plus it wasn't in the best shape so I decided to paint it. I love to ITR red vc's but everyone has that so I went with something a little different.

Started with this:


Then after some aircraft stripper and a tape job I got this:


Here it is drying:


The color is actually a little darker than what it looks like in the pic. The flash lightened it up a bit. Anyway some of you may like it, others probably won't. Either way, it's my vc and not yours

im a fan of crinkle black, but you did a good job painting

That color looks excellent!

 

Are you planning to sand down the letters? Everything looks like it turned out great..imo i would have done a wrinkle blue effect

I put chapstick on the letters so I just have to scrape the paint off

 

 

I would've put some chrome flake in it.

 

once you get the paint off the letters, i think it will look good...are you going to put some shiny clear on there?

 

I think you need to add some more bling to it (clear coat)

I'm debating it. I have the clear right here next to me so I'm most likely going to do it tomorrow.

 

i think its hott, use an aluminum brush and get the letters and **** nice n shiney, good paint work.

 

I like. Plan on doing mine next weekend. Looking for a good color too.

Yeah I went to a couple different places and didn't find much variety. I was hoping for something close to ebp but couldn't find anything really close.
