I have always wondered this because there so many different techniques and ideas when it comes to breaking in newly built motors. When a car comes off the assembly line of Honda the motor has ZERO miles on it correct? Then dealerships often have cars that have like <10 miles on them. Therefore when does the motor get "broken in"? Or does it not?
every engine has to be tested before put into the cars there is equipment they use to do this i would assume they are broke in during this testing. They have to be able to pass emissions, hp and torque have to be in a range and the proper af ratios need to be maintained.
