Tranny question, need some help...
Hi, I've run into a little problem removing the pin from the shift linkage on the tranny - well, looks like the guy who sold me the engine rushed and got a screwdriver tip jammed in there and sold me the motor with thelinkages attached. Now I was trying to use a centerpunch but now the centerpunch tip broke off in there, I've tried drilling - I even bought a "carbide" (or something like that) drill bit @ homedepot. Now my question is - to remove that shaft so I can take it to my friend to remove (w/ the linkage attatched), do I only need to remove the 12mm bolts around the outer case, or should I just bring the whole tranny (haven't taken it off - yet). Any info would be appreciated, thankx.
tried the small punch, didn't do anything (trust, I was there for a long *** time), then I moved up to the slightly bigger punch, didn't do much (actually the end broke off with the screwdriver tip). I took it off of a del Sol before (when I was doing my auto-stick swap on my old car) and it came off w/ a small punch. I jus wanna know if its easy to remove the rod that's stuck to the shift linkage, looked @ the honda diagrams (its held on by a bolt or something inside of the tranny, jus gotta remove the case I guess).
