Default CR-V oil pump in B18C1

Hey guy's my B18C1 has a CRV oil pump that replaced the stock one that went out. I have been geting an oil pressure light any time my motor drops from cruising to idle speed. i tested out the oil pressure today and it was only at 8 psi at idle and 40 psi at 3000rpm. i think this is because the pump is from a non vtec motor so it doesnt put out enought psi for a vtec motor. am i right?? Also pistons rings, rods and bearings are all brand new. Any help would be great. Thanks.

You either have excessive clearance somewhere where you shouldn't have or a failing oil pump. Plain and simple.
