Default My 1/4 mile time Best 1st time running. (want opinions)

Ok so i live in albuquerque New Mexico really sucks cuz im about 1 mile above sea level so we have a drag strip here and i went today for the first time with my most recent swap... A tornando hit right towards 3pm.. it was funny got it on video tape. anyways..

93 civic cx hatch with B18c1 motor, skunk2 manifold dc 4-2-1 headers and short ram autozone intake, everything else is stock.. i was really disappointed can anyone give me some pointers. my tires are almost bald and im running 185/65/R15 on my si wheels.. that may be part of the problem...

what do u see in here that may help me improve... My next mod is suppose to be a turbo.. i wana hit low 13's here. thanks.

60' time could be better and that will help out alot. I also got pics of the tornado myself because Im stationed here.

I want to run my new current hatchback project up at the track whenever i get it all done.

yea we have met before and im cool with Mke the dude u sold ur SER to... and u have a GSR hatch as well would like to see what ur running if u have any times.. then post em up.. wouldnt mind checking em out.. the tornado was really visible from the track though u can see it forming and extending to the ground right in front of u its pretty bad ***.

Yeah I got rid of the faster turbo car to start over again. Im a Honda dude cant help it haha. Im still in the process of finishing up a few things on my hatch and havent ran it yet up here and still thinking about not runnging it up here. All motor 4 cylinders just get no love at the high altitudes unless you are making some serious power.

A twin turbo cobra? And your "cats" in the club? Even if that Cobra existed, you have a long way to go, dog. You dig?

think it might also be your shifting. Dyno your car and see what your running. get some slicks ro better tires. release air pressure. you should be running at least high 13's low 14's

Slow down there big guy. He is at 5,200 ft elevation. I don't care how you look at it, that car will NOT run those times at that elevation with the little amount of mods he has done to it.

Well your 60ft could improve which iwll help laot of course but also, get rid of those SI rims or at least get a couple of HX or VX rims for the track. Expensive tires arent even needed. I get 2.1 on sumitomos all day long. Get some lighter wheels and youll see the time fal off

alot of people forget how much lighter wheels do for all motor cars

The only dude out here that gets any respect from me are John Urist pretty much he is the only person that I have seen from this state that ever did anything as far as racing goes. 2004 Super Street Outlaw Champ on his turbo'd Mustang. Anyways everyone should already know the fastest cars and bikes in the world come from the east and south east. Street cars and bikes that is.

well.. one main reason is that USDM GSR motors are garbage.. (no offence to anyone that has one).. differences from a jdm GSR.. compression is higher, cams are alil more agressive and the trannies are alil more close ratio.. that would take you into the 14's easily with a chipped ecu and some VAFC adjustments.. .. most of the time its all about putting the power to the ground.. which means a closer ratio tranny and LSD would be a good investment.. although being so high above sea level doesnt help n/a motors at all!

what kinda mods does ur boy with the b16 have and are u talking about damien.. cuz if u are he had slicks on his car when he ran that and he knows and i no he cant beat me on the street.. thats my *****. almost everyone who races out here no's me and no's that my car is not slow for what it is.. and is surprised at how fast it is for what it is. I have beaten cars on the street that is and i guess means nothing here right. that run 14.5, 14.8 consistantly at the track. maybe its just that i suck at the track.. u see my score card so judge off of that and if u want to know the temp and all that **** look up the weather at the track on the day of the tornado..

My name is Byron ask around if u are here in albuquerque...

Cams are the same, gearing is the same. They had optional LSD. Read up and don't post false info douche. USDM engines are far from "garbage".

Why no more than 15psi? I would run it up to whatever it could hold safely you just get a good tuner and a good engine management system and you could easily go over the 15psi mark with the right equipment.

Actually I dont miss the SE-R at all. Like I said Im a Honda fan through and through. The Nissan was fast and Im sure that I could have gotten it down into the 12's easily back home. I ran a best of 13.5 or so up here on street tires on only 9 psi cutting 2.1 60' with cheap Kumho tires.

Im not even sure that Im gonna run my hatchback up here in this altitude at this track. Im still running a full stock civic dx exhaust and the stock manifold becuase I couldnt make my mind up on what I wanted to do with the exhaust with my new header.
