Default ITR's that have been stolen from garage?

My friend just bought an ITR, its not his daily driver. Anyhow, I always thought that parking one in a garage would provide adequate security but lately I've been reading about people getting theirs stolen from inside their garage. Jus wondering, are the ones that are stolen from garages have a window that they break in or what?

THose that have their ITR as a daily driver, what precautions do you guys take? I'm surprise to read that some ITR owners have theirs as daily drivers for over a couple years without incident.

Park it in the garage and it should be fine. Disable the ecu and other various components if your paranoid.

Alot of people know where I live and know I have an ITR, yet I always park it in the garage and I still have her after 4 years. *knock on wood*

If a thief can get my R out of the garage without me hearing, he deserves it. I'd say that's a one in a million chance though.

it's sad that thieves these days stoop so low just to get their hands on a car.. even when it's inside a garage..

Yeah, I was thinking of getting an ITR myself because it won't be my daily driver and I felt pretty safe because I have a garage. But seeing all these threads about cars getting stolen out of the garage is giving me second though, I don't have much money (college guy) to go through the hassel if things happen.

It's getting so bad now that people have to watch their rear view mirror on their way home, my buddy sometimes park the car at a stranger house until the car in question passes. Sad really.

I always wonder when I see people asking about what precautions they take. Any smart person wouldn't talk about it online.

yeah same. mines in the garage with a 2 way pager alarm on. plus u cant enter my driveway cuz we have a gate that only opens with a remote. also 2 cameras on our front driveway. if a thief can by pass all that i give him credit and say he deserves the car. outside of my house i have pager alarm on and the autolock. prolly getting a quickrelease soon for my steering wheel. i'm doin all i can but thieves jus tow cars.

If you're really paranoid you could install a DIY tilt activated alarm and hook it up to your pager.

This thing is freaking awesome and very small. One of my coworkers mentioned it to me the other day. I think Office Depot had it on sale for $169.

yes it will. The majority of thieves want a quick and easy steal. If you make it TOO much of a pain in the ***, they will move onto the next car. Well....that's in MOST cases though. But as they say...if they really really want it...I'm sure they'll dedicate their life to find a way to get it.......losers....

I saw a thread a year or 2 ago about a thief ramming out of a garage door in a PY ITR. If only I can find it, then that answers your question.
