Assembly Lube: how soon to change oil
After using assembly lube, how soon should one change the oil? The total volume of assembly lube used is about 1fl oz, so I would feel ok running it mixed in 4qt of Mobil1 for at least a few hundred miles. Right?
At least change the filter after the first initial start/warm-up when you set the ignition timing, bleed the cooling system, etc.
I change the oil and filter, but you should at the very least change the filter.

Which assembly lube did you use?
I know with new engines, Honda uses a special factory fill which is LOADED with molybdenum ... nearly 1,000 PPM in the samples I've seen analyzed.
I'm not sure what's in most assemply lube ... probably a lot of AW/EP additives but I still think at least the filter should be changed by the 1,000 mile mark.
