six speed?
Well I have heard these people out there whining about the final drive being to high but if they had used up fifth then they are running about oh 125 or 130 mph so what is the problem there. Second gear is a little rough sometimes but all in all the six speed is great for everday driving. Gas mileage, imagine what you can buy with all the money you saved on gas. hehehehe
I was trying to say is that versus the five speed in the rsx it is close to the same ratio and they drive very similar to me if you are going to race the car all the time then maybe the five speed is more suited to your needs but if you are going to drive the thing everyday and on the freeways then the sixth speed is better. The fact of the matter is what you like not what anybody else likes just go to a dealership and drive both and see which one you like even though the S model doesn't come in five speed the drive until about 6000 rpm is the same.

I don't like it. I love the five speed tranny on the base. I'm thinking of getting it. I wanna find out if it will fit my car first. If it does, I'm doing a tranny swap right away. I do complain about the final drive, it sucks. 2nd is also rough. The gears actually aren't that bad. But they are pretty short compared to the 5spd. (duh).
I picked up my Type S 2 days ago. In comparison to the Type R I own, the 6 speed is very good. The throws are short and crisp. The action is smooth. The clutch engages less harshly than the ITR.
The 6th gear is a god send. I hum at 3K RPM at 70mph. So much less noise in the Type S (vs the ITR) during my 100+ mile commute.

You said: "but mainly for me its' just an overdrive that I hardly ever use unless I'm going 90+mph on a commute."
Which part of "commute" is confusing you?
