A/C leaking inside '97 Accord...
Hi Guys,
I just got a '97 Accord DX "Value" (I know...ewwww), and the air conditioning is leaking inside the car, primarily in the passenger footwell. I'm new here, and I did search for a thread about this topic, but didn't turn up anything.
Can anyone give me some advice about this? I can certainly turn a wrench, but I have never before owned a car with air conditioning, so this a new level of complexity for me. I really want to get this fixed - it seems to have been this way for quite a while (long before I owned the car), which forced me to do a little steam cleaning...
Many thanks in advance,

The A/C evaporator has a drain for condensation, you can find it at the bottom of the passengerside firewall in the engine compartment. Blow it out with compressed air and the problem will be solved for awhile. Eventually all the junk that plugged the drain will get back down t the bottom ofthe case again.
Thanks for the replies! It's definitely a water/drainage problem...this has been going on for some time (long before I acquired the car) - when I got it the passenger side footwell was sopping wet. The A/C works well, but [not surprisingly] has difficulty removing moisture from the air inside the car. If one is driving while using the A/C, one can see water dripping from under the glovebox when turning corners.
I've recently steam cleaned all the upholstery and carpet to get rid of the appalling musty-mildewy smell (and stopped using the A/C altogether until I get this resolved).
How do I permanently solve this problem?
