Got a problem!
about 3 times a day while driving. my car backfires while driving then my car shuts off.
I pull over then I start it again but i have to press the gas while starting then its fine again.
What the Hell ??

What kind of car do you have?

My 97 Lude did this and it turned out to be the ignition (before recall notice went out).

You have to step on your gas as you flooded your engine. Does it turn off and then back fire? If my memory is correct, backfires are unburnt fuel hitting the header/exhaust. Guessing is that you lose the fire on your engine and then it backfires???

 

I should add that the Accords were also part of the ignition recall.
