Default spark, air, fuel, timing....car wont start....

hey maybe you guys can help me with this....
the set up is a b18b block on p30 b16 head with a built bottom block. it was up and running about 3 days ago, but the head gasket was leaking, so it was taken out and replaced.

the motor was started up today, and its got all good signs....strong blue spark, timing is lined up perfect, its getting fuel, the ecu was working fine when it started a few days ago so im pretty sure thats ok, the oil pressure light is on the dash (only because the oil hasnt cycled through yet i believe), battery is charged, car turns over and over easily....im pretty much clueless now tho....

im almost positive the distributor was put on the right way as far as the cam timing goes, but ill try it again....thats the only thing i have left to work with....any ideas??

the head was milled .040, both the cam gears were set at (0,0) and (+3,+3), and still just short of firing up.

well, hope to hear your thoughts....

Since you had the head off then i would check compression and leak down first off. Report what ya find

coo....

the compression numbers were are fairly good, in the 200-210-205-200 region....

the only thing to worry about now is the timing....and i think that may be off by a tooth....

Im pretty sure a B18B is an interference motor.... no weird engine noises? If it was off a tooth, then you run the risk of bending a valve. If you did that then your compressionw would be **** though. Just run a leak down and check the timing.

well, i can play with the cam gears and turn the exhaust cam to +3before it runs into the piston...and +4.5 on the intake....

but i tried running the cam gears at 0,0 at 16btdc, didnt run....

+4int,+2exh, 16btdc...same thing
+4, +2, advanced all the way....same

no CELs....im positive compression is ok, the rings have like 10 miles on them, brand new cometic copper sprayed extreme head gasket...

its probably timing, or im out of gas. hope my shop crew isnt busy.....
