Default zc vs. d16z6

so i'm plannin on gettin a zc motor with si tranny for my 91 hf crx and my buddy with a 95 ex coupe thinks he will smoke me. What do you guys think? i mean hes got intake exhaust and the ex is v-tec so I'm not completely positive. But i know we should have close to the same horsepower and i'm way lighter than him so you guys tell me which one you think would win in a race.

I'm almost positive you would kick his ***. I don't think it would even be close.

My DOHC ZC 91 SI is a HELL of alot faster than my friends 97 civic EX. That extra 500 or so pounds really adds up.

I was surprised at my car when I got it finished. 130 HP doesn't seem like alot, but when put in our 4th gens, it is more than enough power for most people. With your HF it'll feel even better.

Kinda like some guy I know who says his stock 97 accord DX does the 0-60 in 7 seconds and could kick my *** *smack*.

p.s. vtec pretty much does jack ****. It's not like hitting boost or anything.

haha thanks dude yea thats what i was thinkin but wasn't completely positive cuz hes the kinda guy who can talk alot of **** and honestly its intimidating how cocky his *** is but i'm pretty sure hes gonna get whooped. But damn now i just wanna hurry up and get that engine. But a 97 dx runnin 7's? Sounds like bullshit to me.

The SOHC and DOHC ZCs are VERY capable motors, but are limited im ways the B/H/K series aren't. But I garuntee you a HEALTHY SOHC zc swaped into a CRX/CIVIC with an Si tranny could run game on a 95 EX coupe. Now give that coupe a cam, I/H/E and he'll definitely give ya a run for your money. The only way to really know who will win is to run, at the track perferrably. - Darrell

I personally like the D16Z6 better than the ZC for alot of reasons (such as CA emissions legality - something you will have to contend with). But with a ZC in a relatively light 1991 HF vs a Z6 in a rather heavy 1995 EX, the ZC HF is the clear winner.
