pull the motor from your gsr and swap into the CRX. REally when it comes down to it thats the only way your ever going to make that a fast reliable daily driver.

http://www.redpepperracing.com is your friend for these issues. From hasport's directions the b-series swap seems not much more difficult than for a 2nd gen.

And ef_you_again is a moron.

make sure you have the si and not the s. i know you said si, but i thought (i could be wrong) that it was an s in 85 and si started in 86. the s has a carb and the si has fuel injection (hence what the i stands for) its a lot harder of a swap if it has a carb.

you have to run fuel lines, new tank, fuel pump, full car wiring harness if it has a carb.

Check the Faq's sticky of the CRX / EF Civic category. I have posted up links so has other people.

And whomever stated it is like 2gen. You have no idea. You are looking at 1000 just for parts to put the motor into the 20 year old car. Not to mention I believe you need/should (if you want to keep your firewall ) run skunk2 manifold on that GSR. There is quite a bit of wiring that will needed to be done.

The biggest things is switching from Vacuum advance to electronical advance, speedometer (would need an integra or HF gauge cluster), wiring up VTEC, Wiring up which obd you want to use, and of course the mounts, shift linkage, axles, front steering knuckles haha. Welcome to hell

But it CAN and has been done. There is a b20vtec Turbo in a 1g CRX , also h22 in there too, most common swaps are d16a1 from 86-87 Integra. Its rated at 113hp, 88-89 Integras are also direct drop ins except for the ELECTRONICAL advance which is a big headache. Next thing would be the b-series custom mounts can be made if you know what you are doing.

You WILL need 86-89 Integra Front knuckles unless you make some hybrid axles which you shouldn't want to do since you can use the Integra's bigger brakes.

haha, search on http://www.redpepperracing.com look up my sn on there vtecn8ive

I actually got tired of people saying search.. so I searched and put all usefull information into one of my posts. Not sure if lots of people use it or not but I know damn well its useful.

Oh yeah watch for an upcoming thread on how to rebuild a 85 CRX DX. I am repairing all rust, painting it all over, swapping in a slightly rebuilt motor (which is from a 86 Integra LS (d16a1)), AND switching from Carb'd to Fuel Injection.

I am currently repairing the rust but I hopefully/will be painting my engine bay this weekend so I can get the motor in
