Default special kind of exhaust

ive heard that they make a switch exhaust like an exhaust that when u hit a switch it goes back to a normal exhuast like u can have it sound stock then flip a switch and u will have your pissed off bumble bee sound back. If anyone knows anything about this please let me know.

its called a cutout

or ive heard it reffered to as a "japanese dump valve"

yea thats what they are, vr4s and stealth r/ts have them stock switches from single to duel

what it does is theres a hole in your exhaust up close to the headers and when you flip a switch a piece of metal blocks air passage to your exhaust and it goes through the hole instead. Basically you press the button and your runnin open headers and press it again and it will go back to normal

they make the ones with electronic switch

but i had one on my DSM but it was mechanical, it was steel cable and stiff sprinf on flap. pull to open up for open downpipe.

so basically my car will sound like **** if i do that right? cuz im not a fan of open header on a 4 cyl.

i think apexi makes a valve that you control by hand that does that. Its like $150 but it looks pretty cool. You can set how far you want it open.

I have one on my Turboed mini-me. It sounds loud... but its worth it when it comes to spool speed. And general power increases
