ok I have a 91 crx si that I just did a mini-me to and converted to obd-1.....well I was able to pick up a d16z6 for hella cheap and I will be gettin that in a couple of weeks....I am debating whether to swap in the z6 or not.....I was planning on building the bottom end up on one of them but for the time bieng what should I do. I would think that my mini me would pull harder due to the higher compression pistons right?
I dunno I just wanted to have a motor around that I could rebuild, where is a good place to get bearings from? I plan on changing all the bearings in the block, balancing the crank, getting eagle rods w'arp rod bolts getting the cylinders bored and honed for my bottom end...also I was thinkin about getting it sleeved if I could get some cheap sleeves any ideas/recommendations where to get some from and thanx guys

gotta try to find some dynos on here and see whats really got more potentital, especially if you plan to fully build one or the other.

Witch head did you use to do the mini me?? depending on witch head you have used will yeild diffrent results with that z6. besides its a whole motor. what I would do is look for a crx\hatch with a busted motor and swap that in, and sell it.

what are your over all plans with the motor? horsepower wise. do you wanna stay all motor or go forced induction? you could do the build up of the z6 bottom end. what were your plans on pistons? and you really dont need to sleeve your block if your sleeves are still good cause the cheapest you would probably do that for is about 800 and unless your running high horsepower i wouldnt worry. and as for bearings look in the sponsor classifieds. you can get acl's for like 80 bux. and the higher compression mini me would pull harder.
you could use the a6 bottom end and get pm7 pistons from a zc and do some porting and polishing and upgrade the cam and valvetrain, get a bigger throttle body (h22 or b18) use a y8 manifold port matched and run an I/H/E some fuel management (chipped ecu with uberdata) and you could have a pretty peppy all motor setup for a decent price.

I was planning on doing a turbo motor for whichever one I was planning on building up....I think I am gonna leave me mini me in for now(z6 head someone asked) .....but your idea about the dohc zc pistons, I have a b18 TB I could send to max bore, I got intake and exhaust if I just got a header and a y8.....that really wouldn't cost me very much at all....I think I might do that instead of a turbo motor because that will take me over a year on my budget to get all the parts and get it built right....thanx man I think I am gonna do your suggestion
