Unbolting the Intake Manifold h23. Its fun ever tried?
So has anyone ever tried to unbolt the manifold. there is that one or two nuts on passangerside under the manifold any tips to get at it i have to get a new gasket on. I cant be the only one with this problem. anyone?
Depending on which two you're talking about. One, or both you can get at from underneath (easier with the oil filter and IAB Vac unit out of the way). The two far lower passenger side nuts (there are two in close proximity) can be reached from above using a socket wrench and an extension.
Basically do whatever you need to do to get at them with a socket wrench and the right extensions. The first time is always timely, but after this it will go faster. I can get a manifold off in less than 10 mins these days, and I get to pull it off along with the head this weekend again.

Just took mine off and put it back on, definitely remove the oil filter, and try different types of wrenches. Socket, socket w/extension, small box wrenches, etc. until you can get something to work, they aren't torqued real tight, so you should be able to get it with some experimenting.
Yep, all the bolts are easy except the middle bottom 2 under the IM. Go at those from underneath for sure. Also don't forget about draining the coolant a bit (I always forget that and can be heard screaming "****" for miles around).
