P1 Automotive??
I live in Charlotte and I usually go to Turbotune in Greensboro for all my tuning and was considering checking P1 out because I've heard nothing but great things about them from you guys, but the only thing that worries me is the low numbers coming from their dyno. Are the guys there good with tuning? Because my car turns out 177whp on the dynojet in Greensboro, which is more than alot of cars that I see on here that should be comparable to mine. Or is the dyno in GB reading too high? Let me know what you guys think. Thanks
Just askin an honest question, didn't mean to make anybody cry, I know that mustang dynos generally read lower than dynojets. I was simply asking if the guys there are good with tuning or not.
Jack @ P1 has a different dyno. His dyno reads lower than other dyno's. If you want to brag about your HP #'s than you can just multiply by the % difference in his dyno than others.

Thanks man, I appreciate the info, like I said i'm not trying to brag at all or be a dick, I was just wondering because i'm kind of new to the area.

Absolutely!
I wouldn't be surprised if Jack wasn't a "rocket scientist" or engineer in a former life.

Me too. OMG....
greenDC2, did you see the thread that Jack (P1) just posted, about his dyno? Like today?

You would not be surprised if he was not a rocket scientist or engineer in a former life? Therefore you WOULD be surprised if he WAS a rocket scientist or engineer in a former life.

I don't know about a former life, but he used to be an engineer dealing with some form of cellular communications or something like that.

Not really. We are all sick of seeing people whine about the low numbers from a mustang dyno compared to a dynojet. People seem so incredibly stupid that they seem to be incapable of grasping the concept of different types of dynamometers. It's more a matter of annoyance than sensitivity.

Jack posted this earlier as a tounge-in-cheek response to the difference in readings that his "Mustang" dyno normally sees vs. the "Dynojet" type dyno.

The fact that one gives lower objective numbers has little to do with Jack's tuning skills, and his understanding of what's involved in safely tuning N/A as well as turbo/SC/Nitrous systems.

OK, so there are people like that.
But, if I take my car to two dynos, that are trying to measure the same thing (chassis/wheel HP), I'd like them to have the same measurement. If they don't have the same measurement, then one is inaccurate, or one is measuring something different.
I totally agree that one can tune on anything that gives consistent measurements. And it may even be easier/better to tune on a Mustang dyno than a Cam3ro dyno. But I'd still like to hear an explanation for why the numbers are different.

Those should answer your questions. Neither could be described as "accurate" I guess. Nor are they measuring something different (they both measure torque and generate HP based on RPM and measured torque).

Nobody forced you to read anybodies post's, I wasn't asking the difference in the dynos, I was simply asking IF P1 AUTOMOTIVE KNEW THERE STUFF BECAUSE I AM NEW AROUND CHARLOTTE. You guys just need get your panties out of a wad.

Summary of the first...
"... realize that both the Dynojet and Mustang chassis dynamometers are useful tools that have excellent repeatability. Both dynos measure the correct horsepower and torque for the load that they apply. Both dynos will show losses or gains from modifications. It is recommended that you pick a dyno for your baseline testing and stick with that dyno type and dyno location (and dyno operator) for subsequent testing."
Hmm.

From reading your original post, it looks like the only thing you're worried about is P1Auto's dyno reading low so that's why everybody's getting on your case.
Jack's tuning gets a
from me.
