Volk Racing Challeng f-zero bent inner lip.....
Hello all it's been awhile. Anyways I was getting my good weather rims (Volk Challenge f-zeros) out for a good cleaning before getting my new tires mounted (Falken RT-615) and noticed on the inner lip of my rim there's a bit of a dent. It's not massive but is noticable especially when running finger around lip of rim. Related to story a couple years ago I had Direct Tire put on a set of Toyo T1S and they ended up damaging one of my rims and had to get me another. The shop owner called me and said how he talked with the Volk Racing rep in California and that they discountinued my rim and that they would have to special make one in Japan and it would take 3-4 months to get. Luckily a shop in Florida had literally 1 left and sent it to me. Well back to my current dilema this rim is a forged aluminum rim wich many in my area (New Englad) say is difficult to fix. I inflated air back into all 4 rims and they all hold air fine. I even submerged the rim in my tub and found no air leaks. Is this rim fine to use. The outside of rim is in perfect shape its just that damn inner lip. You can't get these rims anymore and i'm really afraid that if I send it out its gonna get more fucked considering that noone wants to gurantee the fix. I love these rims I've had them since 98 and I don't wanna give em up. Again real question is are they fine to drive on? Thank for any and all replies . Oh and did a search already thats always been my 1st stop . Thanks Again.
