Default B18 Turbo - going over 6k and battery light comes on???

just stuck a b18 turbo in my hatch this weekend, all is well except a couple things
1. If i go up to 6000 rpm my battery light flickers and it breaks up
even if i free rev it a stop, if it go over 5.5k the light flickers
WEIRD? alternator maybe?? i've put a couple different dizzy's on it to no avail

2. rebuilt the bottom end, stock rods pistons, honed it, hastings rings and acl bearings. almost have 100 miles on it and still smokes like crazy. are my rings misaligned? i havent done a comp check yet

thanks for the help

replaced the alt belt and seems to work better, but if i do rev high the red batt light will flash and the car will break up some. does this sound like symptoms of bad alternator??

smoking issues is still there.
does not smoke on start up only after it gets warm.
Really smokes at light throttle (high vac) and at idle. I know its oil
compression check came back at 205, 185 190 185 so they have seated. also changed the oil and plugs and both look good. tried some ring sealer **** from autozone. didnt smoke any less
also my pcv valve us not hooked up. any more suggestions
I am thinking maybe valve guide seal cause they have not been replaced, maybe my seal is bad on turbine housing, or a jacked up oil ring

thanks for the help im making another thread on the burning oil

THankS

with a new belt helping i wouldnt think its the alt itself, go to auto zone and have them test for you (free!!!)

compression looks good, lots of things could cause smoking, pull off your DP and see if there is any oil in the turbine housing
