Holy cow! Look at my injectors...advice welcome
A certain local H-T member has been kind enough to drive up after work for several days to do some valvetrain work on my B18C5/B16A mongrel, and while he was busy doing the heavy lifting, I decided to pull out my fuel rail and change out my stock 240cc injectors and replace them with some OBD2 Prelude (290cc) units.
So out they come, and all 4 injectors look like THIS

The injectors have about 65k miles use, about 10k miles were with an untuned PowerFC running the B16A basemap (it ran quite rich). Is this a sign that I need an oil catch can in the worst way?
Comments/insights would be appreciated
PS - thanks to LEN for taking the time to drive 1hr. [each way] after work to do my valvetrain upgrade

Len really is good people. He treats me like family.
I've been trying to teach him how to cook so he can impress the ladies - it's still a work in progress

just spray em with some Wearever (my favorite brand) brake parts cleaner from advance auto, lube em back up with some grease, and re-install. inspect the seals/o-rings and be careful when putting them back in

It is NOT a fun experience to be driving to work wondering "What is that stong gas smell..."
Do be careful not to pinch the o-rings putting them back in. I used a dab of motor oil, that worked fine.

looks normal...
Use some B-12 and wipe them down and put them back in.
Place a dab of ATF on the end to keep rubber ring safe.
And run the car harder from now on.
If you want to see scary... I have some 200,000+ mile CIS (mechanical injectors) to show you.

Yes, becareful about the petroleum based cleaners. I cleaned my injectors with brake parts cleaner and did not lube the o-rings. Within about 5 miles after re-installation I was leaking gas onto the intake manifold...the o-rings were toast.

LOL. I only use BP/Amoco or Chevron premium.
Thanks to all for the advise; BTW I replaced these dirty ones with OBD2 Prelude injectors

Just 290 Shane? PE 380s would of been mighty nice for your setup. Of course, I am sure you got the Prelude injectors fairly cheap compared to PEs.
I may come back to the ATL this summer, late July or August, so you have to take me for a ride in the SiR. And get your *** down to Oki sometime.
