Default My amp keeps blowing a fuse every time i replace it... please help

Heres my setup: 2 12" MTX terminators ( old school black subs with "terminator" written in red.
My amp is a rt202 road thunder MTX 200 watt amp. From what i understand its a 1channel amp.

heres the history: ive been riding around with this setup for about a year and a half. I had it in my old Mazda and it was the first thing i installed in my honda. Ive never blown a fuse up to this point. I installed it myself using 8 guage power wire and ground, but right near the battery it is connected to a 10 guage wire from radio shack that contains a cylindrical fuse. This fuse is not blowing, but the one on the amp is, its a 20 amp.

What happened was i was driving and my subs cut out. When i pop the trunk and take a look, the signal wire from the head unit is disconnected. the amp power light is ON at this point. so i reconnect it, and try it again. this time the power light is off. i take out the fuse on the amp to check, and its blown. first time ever. so i replace it, blows again, tried this a few times. so i check EVERY fuse under my dash, all are ok. basically now i cant get the power light to come on, but i sure am blowing fuses.

I plan on testing a friends amp some time soon and seeing if its my wiring, i have a theory that the wire may be pinched where my hood closes and it is grounding to a metal part of the car. However im no expert by any means, so any ideas would be appreciated. PLEASE HELP, ive been using this setup for a long time and i REALLY dont want to have to change it.

Two things here:
1. You understand that by having that one peice of 10 gauge wire, you might as well have 10 gauge wire the whole route. The wire will only allow as much power through as the smallest point.
2. What size is the fuse in the fuse holder, it should be the same size or smaller than the 20 amp fuse in your amp (assuming you are only running one amp and there is only one 20 amp fuse).

If the fuse in the amp blows right away, you could be lucky, and its one or both of the subs or the wiring shorting out, disconnect the subs speaker wiring from the amp, replace the fuse, with a smaller one, [if its a 20A put in a 10A] we don't want to do any more damage, if the fuse does not blow, yippy, its probably not the amp, replace with proper fuse, and with volume set low, try any speaker that you know works, or another sub, if it all works, then pull the subs out of your box and check the wiring and the subs, on the other hand if the smaller fuse blows, when you turn on the amp, oh oh, the amps outputs, [more then likly] are blown, the amp needs to be pulled and repaired or replaced, DO NOT hook your subs up to another amp untill you have checked that they and their wiring is ok, you don't want to blow another amp 94
