good when draging to have stiff or soild suspension
ok im getting into dragin and i seen some stap down things that you can get for you car,but would it be a good or bad thing if you had something to make your frontend not move at all like it was soild (couldnt move up or down). please tell why it would be good or bad???????????????
bad
friend of mine on his vw corrado had a stiff front end no springs just one coil so he could be legal at the race's. on a test run he put on the brakes a little hard and his slicks took the shock and started bouncing up and down, needless to say he changed that very quickly.

ok but im not going to be hiting my brakes hard, but did it help him on his launch and did anything good come out of it???
no nothing came good out of it, he wasnt hitting them supser hard just started to slow down but that was from 115, stiff springs in the back is good from what i have seen and done. the only reason he was running them like that was to save weight he didnt know that the slicks where going to end up acted/being the springs.
definately an extremely bad idea, even if you don't use the brakes hard. if you search here I remember reading about someone blowing slicks just from letting off the throttle at the end of a run. if you are that worried about getting the extra tenths from no suspension travel, you would probably be going fast enough to need the brakes at the end of the track. i've never tried limit straps, but im sure buck02 will post soon and let you know he sells them
you should probably try some traction bars, limited slip differential and slicks, you didn't mention slicks at all in your post so it could be a suggestion

im hiting around 95 to 100 in the 1000ft yeah i know, but we dont have 1/4 here but i can just about roll to the end with out hiting the brakes

ah i see, 1/8th.. well the slicks "grow" when they are spinning going down the track, or when the car is traveling at speed, if you watch dyno videos of cars with slicks you can really notice the slicks grow and then "shrink" (maybe theres is a better word for that?) when they are done with the pull slowing down.
