Ok ive been looking at 04cbr 600rr's to buy for around 7k. but i came across this ducati 749 for $4000 and it is in a town that one of my best friends from college is from and its only 2 hours away. from our school i wanted a cbr 600rr so bad. but i love this 749 esp for $4000 i just emailed him but what do u guys think??? the town is deff a rich town though they are million dollar babies there...so that is the only reason why i think it is legit...but what u think. i will keep u posted on what he says.

Contact the seller. If you can go and physically inspect/see/ride teh bike BEFORE ever paying a cent, then its all good. If he can "only ship and would be happy to refund you if your unhappy" or some other complicated bullshit, then its bullshit. Simple as that really. It sounds wayyyy too cheap to be true, and prolly is a scam.

 

yeah deff i would never pay before i rode/saw type thing. i just hope he contacts soon and i cant check it out and see for sure how it is.

*edit. well i just checked for a 2003 on KBB a 749 "non bipostal" is valued at $11+ and NADA is $9700 so im guessing its pretty much a scam.

I'll bet you that this guy is overseas somewhere, like in Europe, took the bike with him but now needs the cash and is selling. I bet you he will say that he will pay for shipping to and will need something like $1,000 to $3,000 as down payment. I bet you he may even through in a helmet and other riding gear since he's not going to be riding anymore.

Don't go for it dude! there were tons of fake posts like this in my area which recently have died down. You'll probably get an email that is very generic and in your bulk mail folder because he's sending out a line to see which one will bite. Send him a specific question and you'll get more information than you requested in a very generalized form.
