Something in the mechanism has fallen off. It's not on the door handle side (on the inside)... seems like it's on the other side of the hinge that opens the latch. The thing is the door is closed and I cannot get the door panel off to do anything. Also I've tried to go from up top with some wire to try to pop some stuff open but no luck.

Has anyone ever been in this situation? Any tips, hints insight?

This blows cause I gotta go from the passenger side to get in my car.. how embarassing

hmm there might be a way, but i can't think of anything at the moment. that's why i ask on the board

have you tried taking the door handle off, the one for opening the door, or the one that you use to pull the door shut, you may be able to find the rod that connects to the latch and just pull on it to get it to open.

 

there is nothing wrong with the interior door handle to rod. the problem is the rod to the latch (on the side of the door). so even pulling the rod has no effect. something has fallen off somehow.

thanks for the tip though, anyone else been in this situation?

i guess last resort i CAN call a locksmith. just wanna fix this problem myself without paying an arm and a leg if i can help it.
