Default G1 Aftermarket Parts...

Okay, well I've been researching 88-91 Civic/CRX's lately but now I've come to realize that getting a G1 Teg will be much cheaper ($1000 or under) and they make more horsepower and torque stock than the d16a6. I've seen that Pacesetter makes a decent header, and for intake i have to use K&N's FIPK (looks like crap in my opinion) or some other off brand. I want to use name brand parts like DC-S and AEM for header and intake. Will 88-91 Civic Si intake and header fit the D16A1?? Thanks in advance.

Go with a DOHC ZC swap, they are really cheap, and some of the D-series parts(intake manifold/header) bolts up to them if i remember correctly. Plus i believe there are some companies that manufacture cams for them.

for non-VTEC cams!

also, don't get a DOHC ZC swap. the car already has one it!! look for the cams, intake manifold, and throttle body from one, though. and, best of all, look for the rare DOHC ZC 5-speed transmission with LSD. they happened, just not often. LSD also. and get some nice dampers (struts), even if you keep stock springs b/c lowering SUCKS unless you life in *****-road-ville. i have adjustable tokico's on my stock ITR-sprung 3G and it's heaven. rides nice, takes bumps like a champ.

summary: get cams, LSD tranny, and nice struts. it'll be a sweet machine, my friend. and take pics! 1G's look old school cool.
