99-00 si front conversion vs 98
Hi,
Does anyone know if the Si front conversion has any major weight or aerodynamic difference.? I was offer this front conversion and i was just curious . How much is a good price to pay for it? and how much you thinking shipping from florida to new york might be? Fenders, hood, lights, grill, si lip. thanks

dont buy a 99 front end conversion they are stuped im sick of them.
the 96 front end looks way cooler when you have a sir bumper(with moldings) ctr headlights ctr grill and ctr lip.

thats an opinion and i personally think the 96-98's look like they have cancer, but anyways, all they do is look different. i like them because they have a bigger grill too which i think makes the car look more aggressive

i would not have bought my 97 if it did not have a 00si front end.
it is a matter of opinion though, and everyone is entitiled to their own. i dont think there is any weight difference, or if there is im sure its only a few pounds. at least with the 99+ front end you can get the badass oem fogs

To answer your question without much of an opinionated response, I would go for the 99-00 conversion. There is only a few pounds difference. Shipping should be somewhere around $200-250. You cant find the SiR front bumper anywhere and if you could it would be an oem or jdm honda part. There are a lot more options with the newer swap. The newer swap has also proven to be more aerodynamic in the wind tunnel
. Hope it helps!

I'm cracking up over that **** too...
I want to see the "tests" from the windtunnel.

i dont believe there is much if any difference in weight or aerodynamics. i would say about $5-600 plus shipping. i would say no more than $400 for shipping

I'd suggest what I'm tryin to do - get one with it already done.
Personally I like the 99-00 better, but that's because I RARELY see them except on genuine 99-00's. I can't recal seeing a 96+ hatch with that frontend, and I couldn't care much about the coupe or sedans. Few cars have mods on that level of sophistication, since it's mainly young kids with riced out eg's around here. The kids with the 96+ haven't the cash usually, or want a swap first.
Personally I'm getting the new frontend because I think it goes much better with a fmic than that big mouth. The other thing I rarely see (outside of a unusually lage civic/import show, I've not seen it) is a 99-00 with OEM front fogs. I'm guessing if you're in any other state, you might be sick of the new frontends. In cali I'd say its a toss-up - be different, but do what you want.

Hahaha exactly what I was thinking
he made my sig
Oh and to contribute to this thread.. I paid $250 for my complete OEM 99-00 SI front end, just had to find seperate pieces. ($20 for hood, $50 for fender, $180 for si lip, grill, headlights, and bumper) just be patient

I'd just stick with what I already had. If you got the 96-98 front end you can get sir bumpers, ctr lip, sir lip. The 99-00 does allow for the si/ctr lip and better looking fogs though.

WAY better looking.... I think the 99-00 flows better w/fogs than a 98-96 w/fogs... It looks like it belongs there

personally, 96-98 front end has bigger lower grill which gives the vehicle more aggressive and better looking. But i like 99-00 more because the headlight on 96-98 is so ugly.
Well my cousin is selling me a a black painted front conversion for $300 the only problem is that the car is in florida. I was debating if it was worthed the trip, but i guess not i ll stick with my 98 front and get a CTR front lip. thanks for all the responses.
