Advice: What tires are worth purchasing...
Okay I have a 97 EK Hatch and I'm looking for some new tires just for summer thats going on my "WORK RSZ-R 15x7 +44 (Gunmetal)" rims. Right now i'm running stock engine but plan on getting a B18C5 Type-R with turbo, but thats later on. So i'm basically just trying to get all my suspensions done on my car first before I start purchasing the engine.
So if anyone can give me some advice on the type of tires to purchase and why, would be greatly appreciated.

I have some ES100s and i like them alot. But for performance type i just spin. Would you recommend the T1-S for street/drag tires or something else?

Yeah i was looking into the Pirelli P-Zero Nero M&S because i've heard nothing but great rates on few sites. also read about the Yokohama avs es100 on one of the other threads so i'm keeping the es100's in mind.
as for the Toyo T1-S, i'll look into them!
thanks for the advice.

From: hittin corners so hard you can taste my rims..
for any tire in 14, or 15" wheel.. tires arn't going to be your biggest concern. if your going to turbo a ITR, your gunna have to think about some serious traction.. if i were you, ide get some decent street tires, and enjoy them, untill you REALLY need traction. i have ES100's on all my cars, and i love them.
When I bought my good year they were great, untill they wore a bit then they turned into pure crap.
I had a set of firestone firehawks that were inexpensive, wore great, and held up traction wise till the end.
Now im curently running a set of good yr again, i forget what kind, and there so so, but the price was right. (Free)
Im going to goto michelin in a few weeks, once again the price was right. (Free)
If i had to buy a set again tho id go with the firestone, otherwise the soyo's make a good tire, along with sumoto i belive....
But thats my 2cents and shouldent be taken as fact...

What's more important, grip or treadlife? Remember that they are mutually exclusive.
If you want something that's decent all around, try Potenza RE750 or Toyo Proxes 4.
If you want something with great grip in the wet or dry, try Potenza S-03, Goodyear F1 GS-D3, Toyo T1-S. S-03 probably has more ultimate dry grip of the three, and about the same as the others in the wet. They are all better than the ES100.

I e-mailed "Discount Tire Direct" and they said:
The smallest rim diameter for the Pirelli PZero Nero M+S tires
is 16''. If your car is lowered more than 1.5 inches, the tire
size needed will be a 195/50-15. Otherwise, you can use a 195/55-
15 or a 205/50-15 for the 15x7 wheels. A tire that you may want
to consider is the Kumho ASX for a longer lasting performance
all season tire like the Pirelli.
Hmmm guess I'll have to search up the Toyo T1-S.

What are your priorities? Dry traction, wet traction, snow traction, treadlife, cost, etc?
