Need advice, 1cm scratch on cylinder wall; Hone entire cylinder?
Hello all, I'm in need of some advice again.
I'm in the process of putting on another cylinder head to replace one with bent valves. Well, during the process I found a 1cm vertical scratch on the number 1 cylinder wall. The scratch is very faint and is very hard to see but I CAN barely catch it with my fingernail. I know something needs to be done about this but I'm unsure if I need to rehone the entire cylinder or is there something I can do about the scratch. It does NOT run the entire lenth of the cylinder wall, just 1 cm long about 1 inch down from the top of the block. Any input or advice on what I should do? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

If you can barely catch it with your fingernail, then you have nothing to worry about...The piston and ring will clean up that scratch when you run it...
