does anyone know if i can use one from radioshack or is it "special".
Or does anyone in SOCAL (626) have one i can borrow???

Definatly dont use a radioshack cable. You will possibly burn the PCIII.
It uses almost a basic serial cable from what i remember, but one or two of the voltage carrying pins are not used. The information is on the net, but dont use a regular cable without modifying it.

EDIT: regular cable does work fine.

Ok, i was bored so i checked my PCIIIr cable tonight with a volt meter.
It seems that it IS just a regular straight-through serial cable. So yeah,
radioshack one will work fine.

Its funny since i distinctly remember reading NOT to use a standard cable..
Guess i proved that wrong just now.
