I always thought that if its a street car you have to have a muffler. I dont know if there turning out like Irwindale but there not allowing any car to run open header or DP.

yea.. you have it go through a street legal mufflers.. guess that's why they call the event "streel legals"... i plan on running an e-cutout... hope it fools them

why not open the e-cutout after the launch my friend has an e-cutout on his sr20det powered 200sx, you can completely tell that its running "open" dp.. drastic difference.. aren't there boost activated cutouts also?

wait.. just run exhaust.. its more impressive anyways

the boost activated ones aren't that great from what i've read/heard and i think open turbo > exhaust

One of the "gayer" tracks around our area, Portland International Raceway requires a muffler, however they consider a turbo a muffler (and they require one just to run there). There's a 90db limit during the night drags if you want to continue on past 10:00PM. Our typical higher boost SFWD/T4 cars WITH full exhausts and mufflers are still at ~95-100db (measured at half track from ~100ft. away). At least for us, they have us do a solo pass when they're sound testing so if we know they are we'll just do a half *** run (half throttle 13-14 second type ****!). The next time around you should be racing someone so they won't even try to get a decibel reading. I know it sounds like I "think" we're being tricky but I'm really not thinking that in anyway...

EDITED: Cuz my wording on somethings wasn't too clear. I suck

i guess you guys could get away with a turbo being a "muffler" if it wasn't specified.. but at cali speedway.. they said street legal muffler
