There are many people who have done this. It shifts the power curve, and allows the engine to breath better at higher rpm's.

the type r intake manifold will make power above 8000rpms so on your stock motor with type s cams, it is not good, you will actually lose power in the midrange. also, the 05 is NOT have the type r intake manifold

no the cams need the type r intake manifold to breathe better. im sayin you will lose power on the stock type s cams with the type r intake manifold

So it is better to get the cams and the manifold (type R)?
Do you have to change the valves and springs, etc. too???

no you dont have to change anything on your valvetrain. your valve springs are all good to handle that 8800rpm rev limiter

so basically if you get the type r manifold, get the cams as well, because the manifold alone doesn't work??

my friend ken has an rsx and when he first had it, i remember he had the ITR intake manifold, ITR cams, hondata tuned reflash or something, intake and i think rsr exhaust? and wholly **** that thing is quick! I never knew how much of a reaction these k series made to modifications! i wouldnt be suprised if he is crossed into 13's! i hear of peolpe with the S running 14.5 with intake and exhaust! figure cams, IM, ecu reflash and stuff thats enough to make me wet my pants!

if you have a base rsx can u swap the ecu out for the S and get any power?

its best to keep your stock redline. reving higher than 8100 doesnt give u any power unless you've got hondata type-r reflash.
better to be safe than sorry

exactly, just because ur rpms are goig up doesnt mean ur hp is. look at an extended graph sometime on a dyno and u see it start to drop...
