Trailer hitch question: Differences in rear frame/bumper area between 3dr and 2/4dr?
I'm looking at getting a drawtite (or equivalent) receiver hitch for my '93 hatch. Unfortunately, they only have receiver hitches for the 2/4 door and only fixed style hitches for the 3 doors. Is the rear bumper area of the 3dr and 2/4dr cars really different to the point that I can't put on a 2/4 door hitch?

Here is a link to some hitches that are a receiver type rather than a fixed ball mount. They are pricey, but worth the money in my opinion. I want to be able to hook up a bike rack by pulling out a pin, rather than putting the ball on and off.
Plus, I don't want the tongue on the draw-tite hitch sticking out from my bumper all of the time. Ever hit your shin on one of those SOBs?

i have a hitch for my 5G coupe.i recently tried to put it on my 5g hatch, and it's not even close.
try U-Haul.i got my hitch for the coupe there about six or seven years ago,and it was around $120-much cheaper than the links posted above.also,i seem to remembeer them having a hatchback model that mounts like the 2/4 door model, and has a receiver-not a fixed ball mount.
if they can't help you,try Reese brand hitches-i think they supply U-Haul,who rebadges them.
if all else fails, let me know-i work at a business that specializes in towing products for trucks, but i can get applications for cars too.if ANYBODY makes it,we can get it.
