Default automatic engine into a 5speed chassis.

basically my motor is fucked, there is an oil leak coming from somewhere near the oil pump and balancer shaft vacinity also some rod knockage as well. i need a new motor. so i found one thats out of a 95 lude, and i have a 92. would there be any problem using the long block, and bolting my tranny to it ( h23 tranny ) and using my axles and probably sourcing a new ecu? im not sure yet if the engine a an h23 or 22 but if it is a 22 would i need a new wiring harness as well? this is my first lude coming from a eg so im fairly new at this motor, and i did search and found some info but nothing really concrete for my satisfaction. tia.

well i knew the tranny would bolt up, would i have any problems with the wiring harness if it came from and automatic, to a 5 speed tranny and ecu? or can i just take the block bolt the tranny plug the harness in and it should work. right?

If it's out of a 95, its a H23 or a F22. The H22 never came in automatic for the 4th gen.

Also, if it had been a H22, you would need a new wiring harness or you'd have to at least run a separate wire for the vtec solenoid and oil pressure checks.

There's no difference between an automatic-driven H23 and a manual-driven H23. You won't need a new ECU if the new motor is a H23.

yeah, there are three wire i believe you have to run for the h22 in the harness, vtec solenoid, and 2 vtec oil pressure wires. would an h23 5 speed tranny bolt to an f22? i know the f series and h series are very similar in cast but im not sure about trannys. im pretty sure it would.
