getting ready for b16 swap making sure i got everything
ok got the engine in today. came with tranny, ecu, a cut engine harness, all accessories. I have an 89 civic dx and i have an si wiring harness laying around, plus an injector resistor box. thanks to searching i got the instructions on how to do the mpfi conversion and the vtec conversion. also got the axles, linkages, and mounts. i know i need to get a throttle cable and clutch cable from a 90-93 integra. And I think I will be set to do this! Am I missing anything? thanks
you seem to be on the right road. good idea on the making sure you have everything before jumping into it. you dont need the teg clutch cable, you dont necessarily need the throttle cable either, you will just have to route it nicely, but hey, it will save ya some cash.

Before you install the motor, I would do some maintainence on it. I highly suggest changing all the belts, water pump, thermostat, distributor cap and rotor, and clutch assembly. Anything that would normally be a PITA to work on with the motor in the car should be considered. Also, at the very least, get the Integra throttle cable. It's like only $35 or so, much better option than the long *** DX throttle cable.

probably will do most of that stuff, the only thing i have done is put a valve cover gasket set on it, i am in the process of removing what is left of the harness on the engine so i can do the wiring. so as far as parts and everything, i have been getting stuff for a 95 civic si, (b16a3) so probably all those other parts, water pump, timing belt, etc. will be replaced. gonna also do the plugs, wires, cap, and rotor as well. so I guess my two existing cables (clutch, throttle) will work? cool with me; more money to put towards something else haha. I also removed the power steering pump since my car doesn't have that. oh yeah one other thing, the accessories, (compressor, alternator, starter, etc.) do i use the ones on the engine or the ones on the car? thanks i will try to post some pictures as time goes along.
