Default Tranny for b16a2

I was gonna do a b16 swap into my 98 civic hatch. Just curious if the stock tranny that comes with the engine would be fine or if i should use a diff tranny.

I dont know if you refering to the tranny that comes with the car's motor or the transmission you're gonna get with the B16.

You need to use a Bseries transmission, and if you're getting the one that comes stock on the B16A2 then that's about as good as it gets for that motor unless you get and ITR tranny which is pretty much the same (as far as gearing goes)but has a factory LSD.

You can also use a trannies from any of the following: (Rating for Gearing IMO)

B16A3 (Great)
B18C1 (Decent)
B18B (Crappy)
B16A (Great)
B18C5 (Great LSD)
B16B (Great LSD)
JDM B18C (Decent LSD)
JDM B18C-R (Great LSD)

Ok thanks. I was referring to the tranny that comes with the B16. What are the spec differences on the a2 and a3?

Not much if any, they're just both in different cars and came in different years. Same gearing, same HP, same displacement, same redline...

99-00 Si - B16A2
