i don't know if this is just how it was made or not but my driver side door won't lock just by pushing down the lever while the door is open. I can do it easily when the door is closed or with a key, just not with the door open. Did Honda do this so people wouldn't lock there keys in the car or is ther something wrong with my lock? No one i know has another 94 civic dx that i could test if there's does it as well. I have researched and came up empty handed. please respond.

 

its a honda safety feature that the door will not lock at all when door is partially or completely open

 

Pull the door handle (inside or outside, doesn't matter which) as if you were opening it, then lock it. Yeah, it's a safety feature.
