who makes tha best undertdriven crank pully
i have a h23a1 engine. my car is my baby, i dont wanta hurt it in any way, but i love to make it faster! i wanta install a new lighter underdriven crank pully. i hear all kinda bad things about it, but also know that a big heavy pully is a power roober. can anyone plz help. is there any companys that make one that i will not have to worry about hurtin my baby?

Agreed... However, if you don't mind not having power steering (or if you already don't), you can take your stock crank pulley to a machine shop and have them machine off the portion of it that you won't need without power steering. That way you shed some weight while still retaining the harmonic dampener

How much does the stock one weigh?
The Fluidampr one weighs 6.82 lbs for the H22A.

Dont worry about weight there, weight can be lossed from the piston/rod combination and flywheel... No need to take it from the pulley

NO! If your going to get pulleys I would go with AEM powersteering and alternator pulley set. That way you still have your stock crank pulley with the harmonic balancer. This is why AEM doesnt make a crank pulley

What harm does it make to the car? I just wonder. I have the whole Ultra SS kit (crank, power steering, alternator) for almost 2 yrs, no problem at all!

I have 1 year on mine with no probs. I am aware of the consequence, so I am taking a chance. If you don't mind taking a chance than have at it. Educate yourself.

please explain how exactly does an after market screw up the motor? I heard people saying that dont buy one its just going to screw up the motor. How and why does it mess up your motor?
Each engine has vibrations caused by it EXPOLDING fuel and air in the piston chamber. Not all the times are the explosion equal on all four pistons. The job that the harmonic dampener is to "Dampen" the vibrations of the rotating assembly giving all the components in the block a prolonged life. If you noticed on the side of each harmonic dampener there are drill hoes on the side, this was done by Honda to Balance the rotating assembly. If you take this away your rotating assembly is now unbalanced and you just caused it to vibrate and mess allot of things up.

I switched from the Unorthodox pulley to an ATR pulley for this very reason.

sorry 4 tha stupid *** question then. i am from small town where everybody got big trucks w/ big hammer engines, and not a honda or honda garage in hella lota miles. so i am kinda a loner. this site has been so valueable to me. i am goin to stick with the stock pully, and just make more power to turn it i suppose. would a atr fit up on my car? it seems that the little amount gained by the crank pully, its not worth messing with. seems honda has the best setup from factory.

Don't worry about it - every forum on the net has it's own bunch of annoying acronyms, just takes a while to figure out what they all are.

don't forget about the rubber elastomer ring too. when the pulley gains rpm the outer portion of the pulley will want to maintain its center of rotation, like a gyro. the rubber ring and outer section acts as the actual dampener between the "pulsing" inner section of the pulley.
