Default Hyperco Hydraulic Spring Perches - anyone using these things?

So I'm flipping thru a recent issue of Racecar Engineering, and I see the ad for these things:

http://www.hypercoils.com/Prod....aspx

The Hyperco/ICP Hydraulic Load Centering Spring Perches substantially improve performance by allowing the spring forces to remain centered on the shock. By precise shaping of the sealing wall of both the perch and cylinder body, the perch can freely tilt as needed to evenly distribute the load of the spring. The result, a reduction of bending load on the shock absorber of up to 96% along with an enhancement in mechanical grip at the tire.

Is it something you would only notice on a racecar? So do they replace the existing perch(es)?

*** EEEK, do they even have a Honda application? ***

I think I should just go back to bed

There was some discussion about this/these in the roadrace forum a few weeks ago, and the consensus was that it would/might at best only be beneficial in a true race car (F Atlantic, Indy Car, etc.) suspension where this last bit of compliance/adjustment would actually make a difference.

After all, you did say you saw this in Racecar Engineering magazine.
