Default Drove friend's RSX

I have a type s. I drove my friend's base RSX. I actually like the 5-spd better. Is it just me? Am i crazy. Don't get me wrong, I like the fact that my car has more power, but I like the 5-spd better. Just my $.02

That's true, but I don't know if the tranny will swap. I want to find out.

I don't see why the tranny won't swap, same block and everything...

I'll look into it. If i can do it, that's my next mod. I already have everything else. The black kicker panels, non-type-s floormats. No sub or cd changer, 5spd shift ****. Everything about my car is base. She's sleeping right now and always will be.

I really think you should reconsider. You should compare the ratios and final drives of the 5 and 6 speed. If the 6 speed has the shorter gears overall then there is no way the 5 speed would be faster.

We'll see, I want to go drive my friend's car again, see how much I really like it. The tranny would be the last step to my total base conversion. Muahahahaa

Why does your handle say 'desert siver' and your sig say 'satin silver?' Just wondering. . .

When I made this handle, it was before I had my car, and I thought I was getting the desert silver. Then when I went to the dealership, I saw the satin silver and fell in love.

The final drive I think is the same. I prefer the 6 speed for the better distribution.

Thats what I heard from my friend,..he siad he thought the Base RSX seemed a little quicker,.but in actuality its slow!!!
I'd like to check into the Tranny swap as well,..let me know what you find out!!!!!
Someone is also saying you can put a Type-R(DC2) tranny on the RSX too,..thats just a rumor!!!!!

It seemed to me the base RSX accelerated faster, esp. at lower rpms. I test drove both intimately and liked Type s better, guess I'm a gear head. I do find I'm constantly at higher RPMS on the type S though. I wonder how it will do for engine life and general wear? The type S vs. base?
