that's what you think, d15b owns all.

from what i believe, its illegal to swap in a motor that is older than the stock motor...so in this case it would be illegal because he has a 96 civic and he swapped in a 92-95 motor...so vice versa it would be legal to swap in a motor that is the same year or newer, but i have also heard that its illegal to swap in any age motor that does not meet factory specifications (i.e. h22 in a civic)...
dont get scared away by this though...the reality is that alot of people have illegal swaps and as long as your not in california where ive heard that cops pop your hood, you will be fine...

I haven't been able to find the paint that cheap, hell the shipping was more than $10. I couldn't justify spening that much $$ for some paint, that's why i never did mine.

Blah blah blah...
He didn't ask if his swap is legal, or if the Y8 is better than the Z6, he asked will the valvecover fit!
YES IT WILL FIT ANY 92-95 CIVIC D16Z6.
To answer a few more questions:
Only USDM VTEC engines from 1994-1995 valvecovers say "VTEC" on them, and the D15Z1 says "VTEC-E" as do some JDM engines. 1992-1993 and 1996-2000 do not say VTEC on them, but they are VTEC.
That valvecover isn't the same as the Y8 because of sparkplug location - it *might* fit, but it's not the same.

the question had been answered twice so i figured i would ask him a question how his car and about the valve cover instead of creating new threads...but i understand what your stating and ill try to stop doing it, its hard sometimes because i get curious to ask questions to understand and learn since im still learning about hondas...

i have a d16y7 in my 96 not y8 so im swapping a d16z6 head on my block and turboing it. i just wanted a valve cover with the vtec logo on it. i dont understand by being illegal?
ok **** the valve cover then. i just wanted the vtec badge on my valve cover. heres the real deal. im gettin a motor for $300 its a d16z6. will it fit in my 96 hatch? thats the main question. then i wanna turbo it. and if it blows i will have my extra block from my stock d16y7.
Does your y7 have a y8 head? If not you dont even have vtec...
Im not sure why spark plug location makes any difference with the y8 and the z6 because I know a guy that has a z6 cover on his y8, and it fit fine. Is the spacing slightly off?
