Like the title says im wondering how a stroker kit works exactly. Im very interested in getting a stroker kit and i only know basicly how they work. I just dont know exacly how they work and what they do.
hmmm.... a stroker kit usually contains a crank, pistons and rings, rods.. and stuff like that. Basically its making your motor bigger, by increasing stroke... you get more displacement.
Increases the stroke of the engine by a different crankshaft or modifying the journals.

what exactly is stroke? i have a jdm b16a engine, i was thinking about geting an ls block and making ls-vtec and boring it out to a 1.9L but i was told i couldnt do that with out stroking it out. What is ment by that? does that mean i need new pistons, rods, rings, crank and all that stuff? Also what would the new crank do for you? what is the difference between the stock b18b crank and a stroker kit crank?

stroke is very basicly put: the vertical distance your piston makes from top dead centre to bottom dead centre. you could stroke your b16a with a b18b crank (89mm) and make it 1.8 litre. there's a kit called the tech43 kit for this. this way you can stroke your engine up to 89mm and use the 82mm pistons or the 85mm.
but anyway, to answer your question, the guy who told you to stroke your engine if you wanna bore your ls-vtec to a 1.9 is a total geek
. the only thing you need to do if you go past 81.5mm bore is resleeving your engine
. a 81.5mm ls-vtec is gonna be 1857 cc. technically a 1.9. want more, you'll have to resleev it
