HELP! Lowering an EP3. Eibach? Skunk? Neuspeed? H&R?
I have a friend that wants to lower her ep3 and I honestly have no clue what suspension products are good for this car. Its a daily driver and its a chick so I was thinking maybe: Eibach (sportlines or prokits), neuspeeds, skunks or h&r's. Im only looking for springs because its a mild drop and its not going to be driven on the track or driven fast. Can i get some opinions from you guys? And pictures would help out a **** load because she would like to see how low her car is going to sit afterwards. Thanks

here's my old ep3 on eibach sportlines. with the stock shocks i had it dropped for about 2 years, with 100% NO problems
rode pretty much like stock, but handled way better, not bumpy at all
well if youre looking for mild id say
Eibach Pro-Kit ~1in all around
Tein H. Tech ~1in all around
Tein S. Tech ~1.3-1.5in all around
these would give you closest to stock spring rates with a mild lowering. you probably wont need a camber kit and the stock shocks should last awhile with these springs.
check out ephatch.com in the suspension forum theres a sticky on spring rates and drop.
or if you can afford it, Mugen SS is great. 1.4in all around, full replacement and great quality.
I have Spoon Progressives with KYB AGX's and a D2 rear camber kit and while not really low, about 1.5in all around, the spring rates are a little stiff. driving around town less than 30min is fine and all, but last weekend i went to SD, about a 2hr drive and my back was a little sore after that.

If all you GF wants to do is lower her car, virtually any set of springs will do that. (Some look downright silly, however -- like droopy drawers.) Also, the greater the drop the more likely yr GF will experience the typically issues of bottoming out, ruptured shocks, tie-rod failures, etc., particularly if the roads where you live are going to give her car a daily workout.
The Mugen SS package (shocks, springs, struts), on the other hand, was engineered for your GF's car. It's a superb suspension package. It's also expensive. It will lower an Si approximately 30mm, to CTR height, thus avoiding all the issues yr GF may (will) likely encounter with a greater drop.
If you want to see what the Mugen set up looks like, you can do a search for "Barracks Si" and take a look at that car, a 2002 model. It's not too hard to figure out the owner is a Marine stationed at 8th & "I" Streets in Washington DC. If he can drive his car in Washington on those miserable streets, the Mugen kit is definately the way to go, regardless of where you live. E-mail him.

im also in the market for springs and so far i've come down to progress or tein. i've searched, and many people have said the teins are too soft and the rear sags but looking at EP3tune2RULE Si, it doesnt look like it sags at all.
EP3tune2RULE, how is the ride with the tein? oh and by the way, the rims on your si are the exact same ones i plan on getting for my si. same color and everything. are they 17s?
