Default J's racing intake on 5th gen accord.

Anybody here with a 5th gen accord have one of these ABS or non-ABS J's racing intakes on their car. I see they only have DC,EG,EK applications but figured somebody on here might have one in their accord. Maybe even with an H22.

Thinking about getting one from http://www.passwordjdm.com.

Here is what it looks like from their site.

wtf? that piping looks like it starts small, goes big, then goes small again. the widening will effectively slow down the air, and then when it tries to go narrow again itll create more pressure. or maybe its just my eyes?

yes. my intake is one of those ghetto ebay ones that my old roommate bought for his 93 prelude S (just stolen, hoping it's still intact). works just fine. makes much more noise than power tho. sorry to thread hijack but, do people think it's worth the money for an actual aem intake as opposed to my ebay one?

the opening for the filter is about 4.5-5 inch big, i wouldn't call that small

okay, so maybe its big, to bigger, to smaller.

about aem vs ebay, yea the carb sticker can sometimes be important. otherwise, piping is just piping. but make sure to buy a good quality filter element, THAT is one thing thats sure to make a difference

I don't believe there is an application for our accords or preludes from J's racing or their replicas ie. passwordjdm and memoryfab.

H22A1, Spoon stage 5 cams, 1/2" P&P, SMSP header, Hondata tuning...

no intake does you very good if it disturbs the air at entry into the throttle body, which 9 out of 10 do, a major part of having an effective intake system is matching the ID of the throttle body to the ID of the intake, even the smallest of differences can disturb the air moving through there

I just want to get rid of the "cold air intake" and get a short ram for the extra piece of mind while its pouring rain out here in south florida.

****, just hack it up with sawzaw...that's what I did

call me a fool but I guarantee you it breathes just as good as a $200 intake!!! And I've ridden with plenty of expensive intakes, mine sounds better!

i started a thread way back if anyone's interested

Highly highly doubt youll get one of those from a EK/DC2 to fit in an accord or prelude engine bay. For the AEM vs. J's Racing .. thats hella good if it got the same HP rating on the dyno, but I bet if you do long racing where heat becomes more of an issue, the J's racing will perform a little bit better. Also .. did you test AEM cold air vs. J's short ram? if so, then thatll make J's helllaa good!

the dyno was on a aem short ram vs. J's

heat is irrelavent when you are sucking in hot *** air anyway, plus we heat wrap our intakes

we used a TypeR J's racing intake, with a type R throttle body
