my compression test results...any good?
I did a compression test today on my 98 lude. Its got 70k on it. I got 185, 190, 190 and 195. I cant seem to find and specs on where i should be. If any one could tell me the specs that would be appreciated.
thanks in advance

those numbers are good...the helms said 180-185 is normal. Did you do the test at WOT? I got the same numbers but at idle throttle. I wonder how much it would go up at WOT. Anyways those are good.
what would WOT do when the fuse for the fuel pump is pulled so it doesnt try to start?
200I4 i did it at my house but any shop could do it for you. Its not hard at all, just need the tester.

You do a compression test at WOT so the throttle plate is open in your throttle body. If you do it at closed throttle you are not getting the airflow you should.
Now, about doing it with the engine warm....
I know all the manuals say to do it like that but don't they also say to remove spark plugs with the engine COLD? If you remove your plugs with the engine warm you stand a better chance of stripping out those delicate threads. I've always done my tests with the engine cold and they have come out within spec. What is the advantage to doing them with a warm engine?
