Basically the way I see it, since you've already done the major tune up (timing belt), all you need to do now is the basic tunes ups every so many miles and it should last quite a while. I would just be carefull with that many miles, it would probably be easy to throw a rod or somthing like that.

i have a 1986 accord LXi with 321K miles on it. it's been to hell and back, and now the brakes keep braking even though i do not step on the pedal. but, engine and tranny are still super strong....

Hell, that's nothing. My Mom's old 95 DX went for 250K with the original clutch before it and the motor went. She drove around for about a year with no oil; I'm sure it could have gone for much longer.

My D16Y8 only has 120k on it. But my GF's Bonneville has 275k on it and I just changed out the original spark plug wires a few months ago
The timing chain makes ALOT of noise..lol..original too.
I hope the HOnda outdoes the Bonneville. Only time will tell. I can tell you one thing, its going to be maintained a hell of alot better.

My D16Y8 has 95,xxx I do all the basic mantinence but I dont know how long its going to last because I drive it kinda hard. I have probably taken it to redline about 15 times since I bought the car 2 years ago with 69.xxx miles. I want to turbo it but someone told me that my mileage was too high to do so and I dont know if the engine will be able to handle it. What do I need to check to see if it can handle turbo? I heard that I could get a compression and leak test to see if the engine is still in good shape. Is that true? Where would I go to get that done?

honda's can run well over 250k deep into the 300k's if maintained well but, with 266,xxx miles you should keep a close eye on it also start looking into getting things internally for the engine to extend the life of the engine. with the correct maintaince and parts you can double your current mileage we all can.
I picked up my 96 Cx with 180k jan. 01-05. I put in an EX cluster and probbaly have close to 187k on the motor. Running strong as ever.
Maintenance done
[*] 2nd oil change coming this week[*] new plugs going in with oil change[*] change out tranny fluid this week[*] New timing belt / water pump[*] distributor cap / rotor button[*] new plug wires[*] coolant has been changed out
I'm going to swap in an LS and keep the D16 for back-up

b series rods are alot stronger than D series rods.. that B16 is begging to be turbo'ed. if i can do it on a 235K VX.. you can too!

on my 97 GSR, the OEM clutch failed finally at 160K. the center part where the splines connect to the disk gave, and had alot of slop. the friction part of the disk was actually ok. the springs and the center gave out. slapped a $100 ebay exedy clutch and its good as gold.

just keep up with oil changes and tune ups. You should be good for a long time. I was reading on another site that some people are getting over 400k miles on there civics. Thats just insane. I thought my civic w/ 161k miles on it was a lot. haha
