Default 40-point inspection results

went in and got my inspection and only thing wrong was "brake switch needs adjusted" because my brake lights wouldnt turn off. went home and searched on here and found out a little plastic stopper piece fell out of the hole that presses the brake switch down. they were gonna charge me $50 just to replace that little piece . other thing was "transsmission is a little wet on bottom, possible oil pan, possible axle seal. can't tell would have to investigate further" that wet look has been on my tranny for the longest and i dont think theres anything wrong?

glad to hear you were able to take advantage of the free inspection. i know sometimes it seems like the dealerships will try to rip you off, but i thought i got a good deal out of it.

they let me know my outer brake lights were not working (Which i never would have seen when driving my car), located the small coolant leak i was having, let me know about the small crack in my exhaust manifold (time for a header), and warned me about the small cracks in my CV boots.

i'm just glad that i heard about this on H-T, because i just bought the car last week, and this was a good chance to find out more about the car. :D

Its a good thing. Honda techs work on them all day and can spot common trouble areas. Kind of like a house inspection, the inspectors will spot things that most people won't.

Kansas city sounds like a bunch of **** bastards when it comes to inspections. I work at a shop and we are good, but not that thorough. Seems like a bullshit excuse for more money these days. If the car is safe then drive it, these new regulations and **** are just annoying sometimes. And no we aren't half-assed, just not as bad as the guys you went to.

Hm yes they were going to charge me $45 to tell me what was up with my check engine light. I guess I'll go get my free inspection tomorrow. Is this also the free tuneup thing for 96-97 hondas?

I went in last friday to get mine done, and they told my my car wouldnt' fit on the lift, so I drove away slightly dissatisfied, but then realized I wasn't out any money, so I just went home.

You don't need a coupon. I pm'd you the site I got the info from. Make sure the dealer is participating in this first by looking on the list on that website.
