my teg is sick
Went to dyno for first time today to get a baseline before I started changing parts. My car is a 2000 ITR with 29K miles. My only mods are an aem cai, which I hate, and a POS magnaflow muffler on the stock cat back, which I also hate. I would post the chart, but I have no scanner, so....
hp tq
3k 50 90
3.5 62 95
4k 70 93
4.5 77 92
5k 85 90
5.5 95 92
5.7 95 89 vtec x over
6k 112 98
6.5 127 104 peak tq
7k 138 104
7.3 147 103 peak hp
7.5 140 100
8k 140 95
I don't know if that means anything, but it seems fine, except about 15 hp down across the run. It was a 60 degree day and the run was on a dynojet 240. I read this thread https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=114617&page=2 and am going to try all the stuff in there. Do these numbers sound low to the rest of you? should I get my engine sorted, up to par and back on the dyno before I try to put in cams/header and cat/anything else like that, Or should I just change plugs/wires/cap/fuel filter and assume these are the cause of my sick engine, and continue on my quest. My goals for the car are to hit 190 with spec a's, type one/sms header and vafc(for now). It looks like I got a lot of work cut out.

that seems way to low, are you sure the dyno has been calibrated in the last couple years, also have any of your friends with stock R's, or and b-series for that matter, run on it. Remember a dyno is for tunning purposes not to get comparable HP numbers.
take it to another dyno, like if your car is sick get a second opinion, but this time go to a place where others have dynoed similar setups
im sure that your car makes just as much HP as the rest of the stock R out, not almost 20hp less

I've been asking around about the shop and the dyno, and appearently the dyno is nearly brand new and fairly accurate. I saw a plot for a 99gsr off the same dyno last week and he hit 149...I think I'm basicaly being nickled and dimed to death. I'm going to replace spark plugs, wires, distributer cap and rotor, fuel filter and adjust valves and try another dyno later this week. If I'm still low then, I think I'll turn my car into a bon-fire and roast marshmellows.

I hope it works out
Btw...does anyone have a plot that roughly matches my mods they could either post or email me so I can see how far off I was?

?
yup first time...but I definately think it is my car and not the dyno, all those guys at millennium tune on that dyno, and they're numbers all make sense. Who else has a dyno around here
and this is the first time you dynoed (sp) your car there? I don't wanna waste my money and get incorrect reading like you.

Thanks...that actually mader me feel a lot better...Maybe I did get a F**ed up run...my plot look almost exactly like that but consistently 12-13 hp lowere every where....For people with a lot of dynojet expirence, is there something that could have been lined up wrong or set wrong that would make my run indicate low like that?
What was the correction factor on the run?

Here is what a stock 2000 ITR should put out.. First run is at 10 degrees and then 18 degrees timing.

I thought you gain HP when you go to 18 degrees....

but to get back to the post, I would check the correction factor.
just take some time and read the graph,
he said his first run was done at 10deg, so the first must be Dyno run 2,
his 18deg timing must be the one performed after the 1st, hence Dyno run 4.
so the Blue line being Dyno run 4 must be 18deg
and the red being dyno run 2 must be 10deg
anyone else needs help understanding th graph, I will be more then happy to offer my services for $20 an hour
