Default more power or better technique?

i have an h22a in a 94 civic hatch. euro-r intake manifold, 70mm tb, aem intake, oem jdm header, high flow cat, and 2.5 inch manderl bent exhaust, and a chipped p28 that i made.
the car is gutted so that only the 2 front seats and hollwed out dash remain in the car. I would estimate power is right around 175 whp with estimatred weight of 2300 lbs with me in the car.
suspension wise i have tokico illuminas, drop zone coilovers, generic tractio bars
and at the track use 23x8x13 m&h slicks on bogarts.

Friday night i made 9 passes at the 1/8 mile, with a best of 8.85@77.6 mph with a 1.85 60 foot time. it was in the mid to high 70s temp wise.
most of my 60 foots were 1.85-1.9 with 2 being higher since the hose broke and there wasnt enough water to do a good burnout.
i launched at 6k rpm with a full throttle launch setting on my chip.
tire pressure was kept around 9-11 psi through the night with it hitting as high as 14 psi when i made 3 runs back to back.

can i get better with out more power or not? or can i imporove technique enough to get better?
my previous best time in the 1/8 was 8.89 (not sure of trap), with a 2.05 60 ft, which was run on the stock manifold, no traction bars, no slicks, on 17s....but it was also about 35 degree outside and very dry.

it should be better than a 8.8 in the 1/8th.... but until it hits the dyno to see what hp you're really making its hard to say. I think you really should be making more power than 175whp with your mods, but your 1/8th mile trap tells a different story.

just an example... i made a little over 200whp and my 1/8th mile was a 8.2@85mph with 24.5x8x13" MT on Lensos.

i have been putting off dynoing since the closest places all want 75 for every 2 pulls. I guess its time to hunt something down and tune more.
